Portugal allocates EUR 10m to support solar power in agriculture

The Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture announced it is allocating EUR 10 million (USD 12.1m) for solar projects under its Small Investments in Agricultural Exploration programme.

The announcement was made on Saturday when the government opened applications for the installation of photovoltaic (PV) panels on agricultural holdings under the programme. The initiative covers investment support of up to 70%, ranging from EUR 700 to EUR 35,000.

The goal of this new measure is to make the agriculture sector more sustainable, innovative and profitable, the Minister of Agriculture, Maria do Ceu Antunes, said.
