Polish province to grant EU funding to municipal solar projects
Sep 3, 2012 - The government of northeastern Poland's Podlaskie province on Friday announced a competition for PLN 20.6 million (USD 6.2m/EUR 4.9m) in European Union (EU) financing for municipal projects using solar energy.
Solar energy projects of local municipal governments and municipal companies, including projects for the purchase and installation of solar collectors, worth less than PLN 20 million will be eligible for financing provided under the Regional Operational Programme Podlaski 2007-2013. The financing will cover up to 85% of the project's cost.
Applications for financing can be made by October 31, Izabela Smaczna-Jorczykowska from the Podlaskie Province Marshal's Office, told news agency PAP.
The next competition for financing of renewable energy projects will start in December, according to Smaczna-Jorczykowska.
