Polish province to get funding to install solar collectors on hospitals
Jul 13, 2012 - The Polish Mazowieckie province will receive PLN 29 million (USD 8.4m/EUR 6.9m) in funding to install solar collectors on hospitals under the Swiss-Polish cooperation programme, the Office of the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship announced earlier this week.
The financing wll be used for the installation of solar collectors on 12 hospitals at a total cost of PLN 34.6 million throughout the province, according to the statement, released on the website of the Office.
The solar collectors will enable the hospitals to save up to 35% of their costs related to heating water.
Installations are scheduled for the period from 2014 to 2016.
The Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme is aimed at reducing the economic and social disparities in the enlarged European Union. The programme was launched with an agreement between the government of Poland and the Swiss Federal Council in 2007. Switzerland has allocated CHF 1 billion (USD 1.01 bn/EUR 833m) for the countries that entered the EU in May 2004, of which CHF 489 million is earmarked for Poland.
