June 7 (Renewables Now) - German wind farms developer PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNE3) will change its name to PNE AG, in line with a plan to become a clean energy solutions provider.

In addition to wind power, the German firm’s new strategy includes expansion into the photovoltaics, hydrogen and energy storage sectors, it said in a press release on Wednesday. The new name, standing for “Pure New Energy,” was approved at a general meeting of shareholders.

PNE’s shareholders have also given their consent to a proposal for the distribution of a EUR-0.04 dividend (USD 0.05) per eligible share.

The German company says on its website it has installed more than 200 onshore wind farms totalling over 2,400 MW in Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Poland and the US. It is also working on five offshore wind projects with a combined capacity of 2,240 MW.
