Plug Power strikes long-term green H2 supply deal with Certarus

Plug Power Inc (NASDAQ:PLUG), the US-based provider of turnkey hydrogen solutions, has sealed a deal to supply up to 10 tonnes of green hydrogen daily to natural gas and hydrogen platform Certarus USA Ltd.

The companies have entered a long-term supply and logistics agreement, aiming to expand the infrastructure needed to speed up the broad adoption of green hydrogen fuel across North America, Plug Power said on Tuesday.

Plug Power will provide the agreed volume from its North American hydrogen production network, expecting initial deliveries to start in the first quarter of next year. The contracted green hydrogen will be transported from where it is produced directly to Plug Power's and Certarus' end users through the logistics platform and compressed gas delivery trailers fleet owned by Certarus.

The end users include customers in the mining, power generation, and natural gas mid-stream sectors, and industrial energy users.

Plug Power will also supply equipment to clients of Certarus. The New York-based hydrogen fuel cell systems maker pointed out that the partnership with Certarus aligns with its target to produce 1,000 tonnes of green hydrogen daily by 2028, with an interim goal of 500 tonnes per day by 2025.
