Phoenix Solar builds PV plant using US Dow Corning adhesives
Dec 14, 2011 - German photovoltaic (PV) technology company Phoenix Solar AG (ETR:PS4) announced yesterday it installed a proof-of-concept 23 KW PV demonstration system using structural adhesives made by US silicone-based products maker Dow Corning Corp.
The installation was carried out at Dow Corning's headquarters in Michigan, USA.
The structural adhesives replace metal clamps, clips and bolts used to stabilise PV modules on mounting rails and are considered to lower labour and material costs as well as reducing installation time in solar plants building.
Both companies will cooperate to commercialise a total solution using Dow Corning's product and will work together in future solar projects.
