Jordan-based photovoltaics (PV) manufacturer Philadelphia Solar plans to build an up to 1-GW factory in the US to benefit from the support the Biden Administration extends to the local solar industry.
The company said in a statement that the output of the new solar panel production facility will mainly cater to the needs of local suppliers, distributors, developers and installers, and that the rest will be exported out of the US.
The factory is expected to directly create between 150 and 250 jobs. It is planned to be completed and begin operations in the third quarter of 2022.
The company did not disclose how much it intends to invest in the project.
