Petrobras Biocombustivel hits record biodiesel output on Sep 29
Oct 5, 2012 - Petrobras Biocombustivel (Pbio), the biofuels subsidiary of Brazil's oil and gas giant Petrobras (SAO:PETR3), produced record-high 2 million litres (528,344 gallons) of biodiesel on September 29, Petrobras' press office announced yesterday.
The previous production record had been set by Pbio on September 1 this year, with 1.93 million litres, the press release added.
The record volumes include the production of Pbio's three wholly-owned biodiesel plants and that of the two units the company controls in a 50/50 partnership with its biodiesel arm BSBios. The said five facilities have a combined production capacity of 721.4 million litres of biodiesel per year.
According to Petrobras' press office, Pbio and BSBios booked record-high biodiesel sales in the third quarter of this year with a total 145 million litres, surpassing the record volumes from the fourth quarter of 2011, of 111.2 million litres.
