Peru to seek renewable energy supplies in tender - report

Aug 8, 2013 - Peru will publish the bidding terms for supplies from renewable energy projects next week, Enrique Herrera from local sector association AGRER told daily Gestion.

The state will seek nearly 1,600 GWh, equal to some 200 MW of capacity.

This will be the third tender for renewable energy projects in Peru. In 2011, the government awarded long-term power supply contracts for a total 1,153 GWh a year to 10 wind, biomass, solar and small hydro projects. The first tender was held in 2010.
