Peru extends Enel Green's study on 100-MW wind farm
Peru's energy ministry has extended by one year the permit issued to Enel Green Power Peru SA for the feasibility studies of a 100-MW wind project in the Ica region.
The ministry granted a two-year permit in late 2012, while in September 2014 the company requested a renewal for an additional year in order to complete the studies. With a resolution in the state gazette on Wednesday, the government gave approval to retroactively renew the licence as of November 2014.
The Nazca wind project is located in the district of Marcona.
In 2014, Enel Green Power Peru obtained permits to study at least 320 MW of new wind and solar projects in the southern Tacna, Ica, Arequipa and Moquegua regions.
