October 13 (Renewables Now) - US-based renewable energy company Pattern Energy Group LP announced on Tuesday it has completed the construction works and switched on an 83-MW photovoltaic (PV) plant in Texas.

Named Phoenix Solar, the PV park is located in Fannin County. It has a 12-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for 65 MW of capacity with data centres operator Digital Realty Trust Inc (NYSE:DLR).

The firm expects the PV park to generate enough clean power to meet the consumption of about 20,000 local homes.

Phoenix Solar’s modules and trackers were supplied by First Solar Inc (NASDAQ:FSLR) and Nextracker Inc, respectively. Mortenson Construction acted as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.

With the addition of Phoenix Solar, Pattern Energy’s Texan operational portfolio grows to a total of 1,037 MW with six facilities across the state.
