May 24 (Renewables Now) - Argentina's president Mauricio Macri inaugurated on Wednesday the 100-MW Ingeniero Mario Cebreiro wind park in Bahia Blanca, Buenos Aires province.

The wind farm, comprised of 29 wind turbines, is a project of Argentina-based power company Pampa Energia SA (BCBA:PAMP).

With an investment of ARS 3 billion (USD 122.6m/EUR 104.7m), the wind park was secured through the RenovaAr renewable energy auction programme, the Undersecretariat for Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mines stated.

In addition to this plant, there are two other parks of 50 MW each under construction in the same region, the total investment in which is estimated at ARS 3.2 billion. These are scheduled to commence operations in early 2019, the government noted.
