PacifiCorp launches all-source RfP

US power company PacifiCorp earlier this week launched an all-source request for proposals (RfP) in support of its 2019 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), the preferred portfolio in which includes several gigawatts of wind, solar and battery storage.

More specifically, the preferred end-2023 portfolio in the IRP includes 1,823 MW solar co-located with 595 MW of energy storage, and 1,920 MW of wind farms.

The RfP targets projects that will be able to reach completion by the end of 2024. There is an exception for pumped storage hydro resources, as these may require more time. PacifiCorp is accepting build-transfer and power purchase agreement (PPA) proposals. It will not be submitting any self-build resources.

The projects responding to the RfP will have to feed power in the east or west balancing authority areas (PACE and PACW) of PacifiCorp. More details are available here: https://bit.ly/322Pe3D
