Taiwan’s top three photovoltaic (PV) cell makers -- Neo Solar Power Corp (TPE:3576), Motech Industries Inc (TPO:6244) and Gintech Energy Corp (TPE:3514) -- all saw first-half 2015 revenues drop year-on-year.

As for June alone, Motech and Gintech managed to grow their top line results by 42.04% and 55.6% on the year, respectively. Neo Solar’s monthly revenues fell by roughly 18.19% in annual terms. Still, the firm is betting on growing global demand, enhanced product mix and lower production costs to help it maintain its leadership position in the industry, it said.
Thanks to a slight improvement in average selling prices (ASP), Taiwan's top 3 experienced month-on-month increases in revenue.

Last year, companies in Taiwan sold over 10 GW of solar cells, marking a 20% year-on-year increase, according to data by local research firm EnergyTrend. Neo Solar was responsible for 22% of that, while Motech and Gintech ranked second and third with 16% and 15% shares, accordingly.
