Deals in wind and solar assets arrived at just 4.3 GW in May 2018, Green Dealflow says in its monthly transaction activity report.
SOLAR
In the solar industry, the report records only 4 transactions amounting to 200 MW in gross capacity transacted. While the number of transactions has seen a considerable drop from the month of April, transacted capacity dropped less than in proportion to the drop of transactions. The number of transactions recorded is spread evenly across four countries - India, Portugal, USA, Spain. The majority of the capacity was transacted in India
Most transactions in the solar industry concern development assets.
WIND
As for the wind industry, the report records 16 transactions amounting to approximately 4.1 GW in gross capacity transacted. Compared to April, both the number of transactions and the capacity transacted dropped. In terms of geography, the US saw both the largest number and the largest amount of capacity transacted, followed by the United Kingdom. Similar to the solar industry, most transactions in the wind industry for May concern development assets.
