Oct 30, 2012 - Canadian Opel Technologies Inc (CVE:OPL), a photovoltaic (PV) systems and semiconductor devices provider for military, industrial and commercial use, yesterday said it had named Lee Shepherd vice president (VP) of technology in effect from October 26.
Shepherd will assist Opel Technologies' special committee aimed at monetizing the POET platform technology of its US-based unit ODIS Inc. Shepherd has a 25-year experience in business, technical and military leadership positions. He has worked in the telecommunications and information technology industry during the last 18 years.
Opel Technologies has also contracted Ontario-based firm IT Millwrights Corp, a company owned by Shepherd, to provide one-year consulting services for a fee not exceeding USD 10,000 (EUR 7,750) per month.
In addition, Shepherd has received a stock option to buy 500,000 Opel Technologies shares for USD 0.43 apiece until October 26, 2017.
POET is a semiconductor process that enables the monolithic fabrication of integrated circuits containing electronic and optical elements, with potential applications in devices such as servers, tablets, computers, smart-phones.
