NTPC Ltd (BOM:532555) has extended the bid submission deadline in a tender for the development of two battery energy storage systems (BESS) for solar parks on Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Hindu Business Line said on Monday.
The Indian power major earlier this year invited bids for a 3.2-MWh BESS that will work in combination with an 8-MW solar plant at Chidiyatapu and a BESS with a capacity of 24 MWh that will be linked to a 17-MW photovoltaic (PV) facility at Manglutan in South Andaman.
According to the report, the tenders have attracted poor response from bidders. Interested parties will now be able to file their proposals for the 24-MWh storage tender until August 3, while bids for the 3.2-MWh auction will be accepted until August 7. In both tenders this is a one-month extension.
These tenders have attracted the attention of sector players such as Rays Power Infra, Hero Future Energies, Renew Power and Amplus Solar, the Hindu Business Line said in a previously.
