July 4 (Renewables Now) - Denmark's Nordic Solar A/S has agreed to acquire four solar projects with a combined capacity of 220 MWp in southern Sweden in a deal that marks its entry into the neighbouring country.
The projects are being sold by Swedish solar park developer Helios Nordic Energy AB, the two companies said in separate statements on Monday without disclosing financial details.
The four solar parks will be developed by Helios Nordic Energy and will generate green power equal to the consumption of 44,000 private households.
Helios will deliver the projects fully permitted and with grid connections. It will also provide technical and commercial management services during the operation of the plants.
The projects will be completed in the period between 2023 and 2025.
Off-takers will be both private customers and businesses.
“We are experiencing a huge demand for green energy, and the accelerated transition from fossil fuels to green energy, not least in Scandinavia, has created a vacuum that requires significant and rapidly increasing generation capacity," said Nordic Solar's chief executive Nikolaj Holtet Hoff.
