April 13 (Renewables Now) - Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) said today it has received an order to supply 131 MW of turbines for Spanish renewables pure-player Acciona Energia's (BME:ANE) first wind project in Peru.

The German manufacturer will provide 23 N163/5.X machines for the San Juan de Marcona wind farm that will be built in the Marcona District of Nazca Province in southwest Peru.

The turbines will be transported and installed by Acciona Energia. The machines with a rotor diameter of 163 meters (178.3 yd) will be built on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 148 meters. Commissioning should take place by the end of 2023.

The San Juan de Marcona project marks Acciona Energia's entry into Peru. The energy company said in February it will invest some USD 180 million (EUR 165.7m) in the project which includes also the construction of a 33-km, 220-kV transmission line that will connect the plant to the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN).

Nordex has already equipped two wind projects in Peru with turbines -- a 132-MW wind farm in 2018 and a 177-MW park which is currently under construction.
