Nordex picks up turbine order for wind project in Colombia

Germany’s Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) has booked an order to supply turbines for a wind project in Colombia, it said Wednesday.

The turbine maker did not reveal information on the project name or the customer.

The contract includes the supply of 41 units of N149/4.0-4.5 turbines and a two-year service agreement with possible extensions by three and five years later on.

The turbines with a rotor diameter of 149 metres will be installed on site on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 105 metres, Nordex said.

Colombia currently has only one wind farm in operation, the 19.5-MW Jepirachi, which is nearing the end of its useful life.
