Brazil's Copel Cutia Wind Complex in Rio Grande do Norte
Germany’s Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) has received an order to supply turbines for the 90-MW Jandaira Copel wind project in Brazil.
The order was placed by a first-time customer, local power utility Copel - Companhia Paranaense de Energia (BVMF:CPLE6), the wind turbine maker said Wednesday.
The contract covers the supply of 26 units of the Nordex AW132/3465 turbines and 20 years of servicing.
The wind farm will be constructed in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, near the city of Jandaira in eastern Brazil.
Nordex will manufacture all 26 turbines at its factory in Simoes Filho, while the 120-metre concrete towers will be built at the company’s plant in Areia Branca located near the project site. Rotor blades will also be sourced locally.
The Jandaira Copel project is planned to be finalised in 2022.
