Masdar to buy into BP's large Teesside green hydrogen project in UK
May 24, 2022 11:11 CESTMay 13 (Renewables Now) - Indian hydropower producer NHPC Ltd (BOM:533098) has selected engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors for a project calling for the installation of 1 GW of solar parks and transmission lines across India.
The company said in a bourse filing on Thursday it has awarded contracts with a cumulative price of INR 66 billion (USD 130.6m/EUR 125.5m), with the job planned to be completed in 18 months.
Under the arrangement, India’s Adani Infra will install 600 MW of photovoltaic (PV) power capacity in Gujarat under a contract estimated at INR 42.95 billion. Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd, meanwhile, has bagged an order worth INR 17.3 billion to add 300 MW f solar in the state of Rajasthan and a joint venture between SSEL and ASR has been hired to install the remaining 100 MW in Andhra Pradesh. The latter’s contract is for INR 5.77 billion.
NHPC says on its website it has 7,071 MW of installed capacity and is working to add close to 6,000 MW more, with the projects under construction including hydro and solar power capacity.
