Singapore-based power management group Nexif Energy today said it has sealed a power supply agreement (PSA) with Philippine-based SN Aboitiz Power to facilitate the acquisition of a 75-MWp solar park in the Philippines.
Under the 10-year deal, renewable energy group SN Aboitiz Power, a joint venture between Aboitiz Power Corp and Norway’s Scatec ASA, will purchase most of the output and green certificates produced by the so-called Calabanga plant. The photovoltaic (PV) park will be installed by Nexif in the Calabanga, Camarines Sur province.
PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation and PowerChina Philippines Corporation will be in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities and will also operate and maintain the solar farm. The plant is due to start feeding electricity into the grid in the last quarter of 2022.
Calabanga is Nexif Energy’s first solar scheme in the Philippines. The Singaporean firm noted it will look to sign similar contracts for future projects in the country, such as the 150-MW solar project in Negros Occidental province, which is currently under advanced development.
At present, Nexif Energy has roughly 3.62 GW of net capacity in its portfolio, of which 490 MW is operational or under construction.
