September 18 (Renewables Now) - US solar and storage developer Nexamp Inc said Tuesday it is deploying its first six energy storage projects, totalling more than 51 MWh of capacity, at sites throughout New York and Massachusetts.

The two destinations offer economic incentives under the NY-Sun, the Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER) and the Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target (SMART) schemes, making them attractive for the company's new roll-out. Nexamp said it was awarded 40% of the capacity available in the first block under the NY-Sun programme.

IHI Energy Storage of Japan’s IHI Corp (TYO:7013) has been brought in as a non-exclusive equipment supplier for Nexamp’s first batch of projects.

Nexamp also has several storage projects in various stages of development in New York and Massachusetts, either as part of a photovoltaic (PV) system or as a standalone solution.
