New installed PV capacity drops in mainland France in Q2 2012 - report
Aug 22, 2012 - The new installed photovoltaic (PV) capacity in France during the second quarter of 2012 dropped by 27.5% on the year on the mainland, but grew by 6.8% in the overseas territories, online portal PV-Tech reported citing data of grid operators ErDF and EDF SEI.
The newly installed capacity on the mainland was 254 MW in the second quarter, compared with 350.7 MW in the first and 372.3 MW in the last three months of 2011, which indicates a gradual decline in installations for some time now.
On the other hand, there was an increase to 362 MW in overseas territories, including Corsica.
The total installed PV capacity in France reached 3.28 GW as at the end of the second quarter of 2012.
