Asian green independent power producer (IPP) NEFIN said today its subsidiary NEFIN Capital Taiwan Company Ltd has teamed up with City Development Company Ltd to step into Taiwan’s solar market.
As part of the partnership, City Development will assess, develop and acquire solar power plants for NEFIN.
NEFIN is backed by ACEN Corp (PSE:ACEN), the listed energy platform of Philippine conglomerate Ayala Corp. The company says it operates more than 3,800 MW of utility-scale, commercial and industrial renewable energy systems globally.
City Development is focused on the development of the Pingtung Solar Power Zone. According to the announcement, it has over the years consolidated almost 400 hectares (988 acres) of lands in Pingtung and Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan for energy companies and has facilitated the installation of 60 ground-mounted and "water-based" solar power plants.
The partnership provides for bringing together NEFIN and City Development’s expertise in areas such as site evaluation, technology integration, design, engineering and financing, accelerating green electricity supply in Taiwan and supporting Taiwanese government’s renewable energy policy.
