Solar park in US equipped with Soltec's SF Utility trackers: Author: Soltec
US solar power producer Navisun LLC is to build two solar parks with a combined capacity of 10 MW in the city of Danville, Virginia, it was announced on Wednesday.
Construction of the two projects, developed by TurningPoint Energy, will start by the end of 2019 and the solar farms are expected to be operational in the summer of 2020. The electricity generated by the farms, which is expected to be 23.7 GWh a year, will be bought by Danville Utilities under a power purchase agreement (PPA), the company said in a statement.
These are the third and fourth solar projects in Danville and their development comes as Virginia is looking to produce 30% of its power from renewable sources by 2030 and 100% by 2050.
