The government of the Spanish region of Navarre has declared investments in 279 MW of wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) projects of regional interest for the territory.
The projects are promoted by Enerfin Sociedad de Energia SL, the wind unit of civil engineering group Elecnor SA (BME:ENO), Nordex Energy Spain SAU, of Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1), and PV developer Suno Energia through two special purpose vehicles.
According to the Navarre government, Enerfin plans to invest EUR 106 million (USD 119.9m) in raising five wind farms with their combined capacity reaching 171 MW. The projects, named Corral del Molino I and II, La Senda, El Montecillo and Volandin, will require 45 wind turbines.
Nordex Energy has proposed to install eight prototype wind farms totalling 51.5 MW with an estimated investment of EUR 62.2 million.
Suno is to implement two PV projects, of 24.84 MW and 31.74 MW, through Suno Energia 4 SL and Suno Energia 5 SL. The total investment is estimated at EUR 52.7 million.
Investments that are declared of special regional interest are those that contribute to the economic, social and territorial development of Navarre. Projects that reach this status have preferential treatment by the Navarre public administration. Administrative procedures, such as permitting, are fast-tracked and the time to get the papers in order is typically slashed by half.
