German green energy company Naturstrom AG is building a 7.5-MWp solar-plus-storage facility in the state of Thuringia that is expected to be put online by the winter. The hybrid system, located on a former landfill area in the village of Henschleben near the city of Stassfurt, will generate 7.4 million kWh of green electricity, enough to meet the annual needs of more than 2,300 households, while the battery connected directly to the solar park will have the capacity to store 1,000 kWh of electricity. Construction work started in mid-August, Naturstrom said on Monday. The facility is the first hybrid project for the Duesseldorf-based company and is being implemented by its subsidiary NaturEnergy GmbH & Co KGaA, which was created at the end of 2020 to be in charge of the construction, operation and financing of the company’s green energy power plants.NaturEnergy has launched a crowd-funding campaign to raise capital for the financing of the Henschleben project and more solar parks as well as the purchase of wind farms and new green energy projects in general.
