January 15 (Renewables Now) - US developer of organic photovoltaic (OPV) technology NanoFlex Power Corporation (OTCMKTS:OPVS) and building cladding maker True Metal Solutions (TMS) have agreed to partner on integrating OPV thin-film material with building cladding.

The OPV cladding is scalable, easy to install, visually appealing and helps buildings achieve zero-net energy use, according to the statement.

The companies believe they will benefit considerably from working together as they expect the US building integrated OPV market to grow to USD 3 billion (EUR 2.7bn) by 2030.

“This joint development agreement builds off a continuing partnership with TMS that has already achieved success in securing a Department of Energy research contract to develop integrated organic PV building facade panels and is progressing toward the culmination of a building demonstration project," NanoFlex's chief operating officer Norm Allen said.
