November 21 (Renewables Now) - North Dakota-based generation and transmission cooperative Basin Electric Power Cooperative is getting ready to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) targeting both solar and wind power capacity.

The not-for-profit cooperative seeks between 400 MW and 500 MW of solar generation in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) and Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) Zone 1 or 3. Basin Electric pointed out that it is looking for no more than 200 MW of solar in MISO and added it will consider additional wind generation offers in either one of the two areas.

The RfP is expected to be launched on November 25.

Basin Electric will be accepting notices of intent to bid by December 4, while proposals are due before December 23, 2019.
