Greek industrial conglomerate Mytilineos SA (FRA:MYH) has kicked off the construction of a 200-MW solar park in Greece on behalf of domestic power utility PPC SA (ATH:PPC), Energypress reports.The power plant is form the last and largest lot of the 230-MW Kozani photovoltaic (PV) complex in Western Macedonia. Located in Ptolemaida, Kozani regional unit, the cluster includes two 15-MW units, in addition to the 200-MW plant.Metka, the engineering and construction unit of Mytilineos was selected as the contractor for the 200-MW project last December in a tender held by PPC Renewables. The company is being responsible for the design, installation and delivery of the solar farm, as well as for its grid-connection. According to the report, the project will be realised at a cost of EUR 83.7 million (USD 99m), down from the initial budget of EUR 110 million.The 200-MW solar park is expected to be commissioned in 42 months. It is estimated to produce around 352 GWh of electricity annually, or enough to supply 75,000 homes.(EUR 1.0 = USD 1.183)
