German renewable energy company Murphy&Spitz Green Energy AG has started the construction of a 12.74-MWp solar park in Bavaria with commissioning planned for the second quarter of 2022.
Located in the district of Weissenburg-Gunzenhausen in the west of Bavaria, the ground-mounted facility will generate up to 14 million kWh of green electricity which will be marketed with remuneration under the EEG scheme, Murphy&Spitz Green Energy said on Tuesday.
The company considers also selling part of the electricity from the park through a power purchase agreement (PPA).
Companies from the region have been awarded contracts for the development and construction of the park.
Bonn-based Murphy&Spitz Green Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Murphy&Spitz Green Capital AG, buys, develops, builds and operates large-scale green energy plants. It operates solar farms in Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic as well as wind parks in Thuringia and Westphalia. The solar park that is currently under construction will raise the company's capacity to 32.9 MWp and its annual production will exceed 40 million kWh.
