Motech panels power EnterSolar 185-kW PV system in Delaware
Dec 12, 2012 - US solar system provider EnterSolar said Tuesday it has finished work on a 185-kW rooftop solar power system in Delaware using modules from Taiwanese solar cell maker Motech Industries Inc (TPO:6244).
The photovoltaic (PV) facility was developed for lubricant compounder Ultrachem Inc and was installed at its corporate headquarters in New Castle, Delaware. It consists of Delaware-manufactured Motech solar panels, two central inverters and a string-level data acquisition unit.
The rooftop installation is expected to generate over 200 MWh of electricity a year, equal to the power needs of 30 households annually. It will provide enough electricity to power the Ultrachem facility during the whole year and offset over 270,000 pounds (122 tonnes) of carbon dioxide emissions, EnterSolar said.
Via the solar project Ultrachem is seen to significantly lower its electricity costs, Paul Ahern, president of EnterSolar, said.
