Yossi Cohen, the former chief of Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, has been named director at Doral Renewables LLC, the US subsidiary of Israel-based renewable energy company Doral Group (TLV:DORL).
The ex-spymaster, who retired from Mossad in June, “will strengthen the company’s management team and will take an active part in promoting the company’s goals across multiple initiatives, including business development, financial matters, capital raising, and promoting partnerships and agreements with leading entities and companies in the energy sector”, reads the statement from Doral.
Doral Renewables, also known as just Doral LLC, highlights that it has over 3 GW (in direct current) of projects under development and 30,000 acres (12,141 ha) of land control in the US, mainly in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic.
According to Doral Group’s chairman Dori Davidovitz, the company’s existing portfolio in development represents 3% of the US renewable energy goals, and Doral is ready to invest billions of dollars in the coming years to significantly raise this share.
“The company is undergoing significant growth, and we have no doubt that Yossi Cohen’s immense management experience shall greatly benefit and contribute to the company’s leadership efforts”, said Davidovitz.
