August 24 (Renewables Now) - Swedish solar technology company Midsummer AB has received a SEK-30-million (USD 3.3m/EUR 2.8m) repeat order from Asia for the supply of production equipment for CIGS thin-film solar cells.

Midsummer expects to deliver the equipment to the unnamed customer during the first half of 2019. The supplier should received a partial payment within 30 days, it noted.

“Several strong global trends support our business idea and operations, not just the general need to switch to renewable energy, but also technical and regulatory developments that make thin solar panels attractive in urban environments,” commented CEO Sven Lindström.

Midsummer’s head went on to say that the company plans to beef up its production capacity further so it could be able to meet the increased demand for its products.
