Dallas-based midstream energy company Energy Transfer LP (NYSE:ET) has agreed to buy the electricity generated by a 120-MW portion of the Eiffel Solar project in northeast Texas.
This 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) was signed with SB Energy, a fully-owned unit of SoftBank Group Corp (TYO:9984), which expects to begin construction of the 200-MW solar park in Lamar County during the first half of next year.
“It is our second significant agreement to purchase low-cost solar power to help us meet our ERCOT load requirements for our operations throughout Texas. The first was the Maplewood 2 solar farm in the Permian Basin that came online earlier this year,” said Tom Mason, head of Energy Transfer’s Alternative Energy Group.
Eiffel Solar should start delivering electricity to Energy Transfer in January 2024.
