Nov 30, 2011 - US thin-film photovoltaic solar panel maker MiaSole yesterday said it had appointed ex-First Solar (NASDAQ:FSLR) executive John Carrington chief executive with immediate effect.
Carrington is taking over from Joseph Laia, who will step down to pursue other interests, the company said.
Carrington acted as executive vice president of global marketing and business development at industry heavyweight First Solar between May 2008 and August 2009. Before that he worked for General Electric for 16 years, holding various global leadership posts.
MiaSole also said that Bob Baker, a former Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) executive, would continue as its president. Last April, the company announced a deal with Intel for the latter to provide manufacturing expertise as MiaSole is ramping up production facilities.
