Mexico's Tamaulipas state plans wind farm in Reynosa
(ADPnews) - Dec 29, 2010 - The second wind farm in Mexico's northeastern Tamaulipas state will be built in Reynosa municipality, the head of Tamaulipas' environmental agency, Salvador Trevino, said yesterday.
The first wind farm, the 160 MW Los Vergeles, is currently being built in San Fernando municipality.
Apart from Los Vergeles, the state envisages the construction of six more wind farms in Reynosa, Matamoros, Valle Hermoso, Aldama, Ciudad Victoria and La Pesca, Trevino said. The project in Reynosa has already received the necessary environmental permit, while the other five projects are expected to be approved in 2011.
The wind farm in Reynosa will produce electricity for the public lighting, governmental offices and public services.
