Weekly renewables M&A round-up (Jun 27-Jul 1)
Jul 01, 2022 17:05 CESTMay 6 (Renewables Now) - German solar developer MaxSolar GmbH has received municipal approval for a 125-MWp solar project in Bavaria that will require investments of over EUR 85 million (USD 89.83m).
The municipal council of Bundorf in Lower Franconia on April 26 unanimously voted in favour of the project which will be built north of the municipality. Construction works should start in 2022, MaxSolar said on Friday.
Once operational, the solar park is expected to generate electricity enough to supply more than 37,500 households. The power will be fed into the grid operated by Bayernwerke through a substation that MaxSolar will build.
The entire approval process took almost a year and was successfully completed very quickly, the solar developer said. The municipality was impressed by the integrated approach of MaxSolar and the citizens' energy association EGIS eG which is planning to build a local district heating network and charging stations for electric vehicles in addition to the solar park.
