German solar developer Maxsolar GmbH has launched the construction of a 125-MWp solar park in Bavaria and plans to complete the project by the middle of 2023.
The Bundorf solar park will be built on an area of about 125 hectares (308.9 acres) in Lower Franconia within ten months, Maxsolar said this week.
The project was unanimously approved by the municipal council of Bundorf in April.
With its more than 250,000 bifacial modules, the facility should be capable of supplying more than 37,500 households with clean power. The electricity will be fed into the grid operated by Bayernwerke through a substation that Maxsolar will build.
The solar developer is investing more than EUR 85 million (USD 85.19m) in the project.
Apart from the Bundorf solar farm, other renewable energy projects are planned in the region with a targeted commissioning date by 2024.
