Solar cell and panel maker Maxeon Solar Technologies Pte Ltd (NASDAQ:MAXN) on Monday said it has provided solar panels for a 500-kW rooftop solar installation for Italian stationary maker Carioca SpA in northern Italy.
The photovoltaic (PV) array powers the company's headquarters in the city of Turin, covering 15% of the site's energy needs. The system can produce about 524,000 kWh of power and save 278 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) a year.
Maxeon Solar, which is a spin-off of SunPower Corp (NASDAQ:SPWR), provided the PV panels for the installation, while local company Im-el Osasio, which is a SunPower partner, designed and installed the array.
"As a socially responsible corporate citizen, Carioca SpA is continually looking for ways to green our production facilities and offices and reduce our environmental impact by implementing sustainable operations and practices," CEO Enrico Toledo commented.
