Martifer Solar constructs 5-MWp solar plant in Ukraine
Jun 21, 2013 - Martifer Solar, part of Portuguese industrial group Martifer SGPS SA (ELI:MAR), said Thursday it was installing a 5-MWp solar park in Ukraine for local renewable energy investor Rengy Development.
The project, which is Martifer Solar's third development in Ukraine, is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The photovoltaic (PV) installation, to be located in Ukraine central region of Vinnytsia, will feature over 20,000 modules on fixed structures. Its output, estimated at 5.7 GWh per year, will be enough to meet the electricity demand of about 6,500 residents, mitigating over 5,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
Martifer Solar is in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the PV system, and will deliver operation and maintenance (O&M) services, as well. The plant is scheduled to become operational in June.
