MAN Energy, Andritz Hydro target 100 MW of new green hydrogen projects

MAN Energy Solutions, part of German truck maker MAN SE (ETR:MAN), last week said it has teamed up with Andritz Hydro, part of Austrian technology group Andritz AG (VIE:ANDR), to use hydropower to produce green hydrogen.

An initial pilot project, to be launched by the end of 2021, will have an electrolysis output of up to 4 MW and produce about 650 tonnes of green hydrogen for local use. The partners aim to have a total installed electrolysis output of up to 100 MW in the next years to produce hydrogen for export.

MAN Energy Solutions offers electrolysis technology through its subsidiary H-TEC SYSTEMS.

The projects will be implemented as part of the H2 Global initiative of the German government that backs hydrogen partnerships.
