April 14 (Renewables Now) - Former CEO of Mainstream Renewable Power, Andy Kinsella, has co-founded a new company dedicated to the development of onshore wind, solar and energy storage projects in Europe.

The renewables industry veteran has partnered with an affiliate of Texas-based green energy platform 547 Energy LLC to launch Aer Soleir, reads today's announcement released by 547 Energy.

The green platform is backed by a fellow Texan, private equity firm Quantum Energy Partners.

Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Aer Soleir will develop, build, own and operate a “multi-gigawatt portfolio” of onshore renewables throughout the Old Continent.

Highlighting the EU’s ambition for Europe to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, 547 Energy CEO Gabriel Alonso said that “there is no better time than now to invest in the accelerating clean energy transition”.

“We have full confidence in Andy’s ability to grow Aer Soleir into a leading European pure-play renewable energy developer and look forward to working closely in the journey,” said Alonso.

“Aer Soleir’s mission is to develop and build best-in-class, large-scale, energy transition projects that will provide material, long-lasting economic benefits to communities across Europe. We look forward to supplying safe, reliable, and valuable clean energy to our customers and to delivering superior returns for our investors”, adds Kinsella, who has been appointed CEO of the new company.
