LyondellBasell inks PPA for Grenergy's 259-MWp solar project in Spain

Spanish renewables firm Grenergy Renovables SL (BME:GRE) said on Friday that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with a corporate off-taker to supply electricity from a 259-MWp solar farm in Spain.

The PPA will see the Netherlands-based chemicals multinational LyondellBasell Industries NV (NYSE:LYB) procure around 330 GWh of electricity annually for 15 years.

The contracted power will be generated by the La Cereal solar farm, which will be one of the sections of the larger 575-MWp Clara Campoamor solar PV complex. The whole project, located between Madrid and the Castile-La Mancha region, is currently under development, Grenergy said.

The firm expects the La Cereal solar farm to become operational in the first half of 2025. The PPA will kick into force at the end of that year.
