May 28 (Renewables Now) - German renewables investor and asset manager Luxcara GmbH has inaugurated the 111.2-MW Egersund wind farm in Norway, it said today.

An opening ceremony was held on May 23.

The wind power plant, which consists of 33 turbines provided by German manufacturer Senvion SA (ETR:SEN), took 15 months to complete, Luxcara said. It has been supplying power to the grid since November 2017.

The asset manager acquired the project for a renewable-energy portfolio for institutional investors in December 2015. It was bought from developer Norsk Vind Energi AS. A 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) was agreed in November 2016 with the Axpo Group in Switzerland.

The facility is located in Egersund, Rogaland county, along the southwestern coast of Norway.
