Sep 12, 2011 - The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) last week said it had reopened its Solar Incentive Rebate programme, offering up to USD 40 million (EUR 29.4m) in incentives for the current year.
Since its start on September 1, the programme has received 112 applications for some USD 7.4 million in rebates to build 3.25 MW of rooftop solar power in Los Angeles.
Ninety-two of the applications are for residential systems, 15 are for commercial, three for governmental and two for non-profit organisations, with 17 of all the applications being for leased systems. Additional 136 applications have been started online and are pending completion and formal filing.
LADWP suspended the programme in April to recoup a backlog of applications which topped the available budget. LADWP will fund USD 20 million of rebate requests that were pending when the programme was deferred.
