Chinese photovoltaics (PV) maker Longi Solar plans to boost its production capacity for monocrystalline silicon ingot/wafer, cells and modules to 65 GW, 20 GW and 30 GW, respectively, by end-2021, it announced this week.
The company said in a statement that its mono ingot/wafer production capacity amounted to 28 GW at the end of 2018. It shipped 3.483 billion pieces of monocrystalline silicon wafer overseas during 2018 for a 59% year-on-year jump.
At the same time, Longi shipped 7.072 GW of solar cells and modules, up by 50% over the previous year. It noted that rapid growth was achieved in shipments in the US, Europe, India, Latin America, Japan, Australia and Africa.

On Tuesday, the company reported an attributable net profit of CNY 2.56 billion (USD 380m/EUR 341m) on a revenue of CNY 21.99 billion for 2018, up 34.38% on the year.
