Longi lands USD-600m PV module order in US

Chinese solar products maker Longi Green Energy Technology Co Ltd (SHA:601012) has secured a deal worth USD 600 million (EUR 511.7m) to supply photovoltaic (PV) modules to an unnamed US company.

The contract was signed last week, according to a bourse statement by Longi. Under its terms, the Chinese company will deliver monocrystalline PV modules through its subsidiary Longi Leye Photovoltaic Technology Co Ltd. The customer is a “major power plant developer in the US,” Longi said without disclosing its name.

Shipments are expected to take place between 2019 and 2022.

Longi’s production plants are located mainly in China, but the company also has a factory in Malaysia. Earlier this year, it unveiled plans to establish a facility capable of producing 1 GW of cells and 1 GW modules in India. According to Longi’s website, it currently has a solar module manufacturing capacity of 6.5 GW.
